Meet the Founder
Dr Benjamin Ayensah
Dr Benjamin Ayensah is the heart behind BAY Hospital. A UK-based Ghanaian consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with roots in Agona Swedru, he combines world-class medical training with a deep commitment to his country and community of origin.
After earning his medical degree in Ghana and completing postgraduate studies in London, Dr Ayensah built a successful career in the UK’s healthcare system. While his work has taken him overseas, his focus has always been on making a positive impact in his home country. For years, he has dreamed of bringing high-quality healthcare back to the community that shaped him.
BAY Hospital is the result of that vision — a modern general hospital designed to meet real health needs in Swedru and beyond. With services ranging from emergency care and diagnostics to surgery and maternity, the hospital is being built with more than infrastructure — it is built with purpose.
Dr Ayensah’s commitment goes beyond clinical care. The hospital operates on a social model: while private patients can access premium services, part of that income helps support care for those who can not afford it. It is healthcare with heart — built on equity and compassion, not just efficiency.
He works closely with a professional team of architects, engineers and consultants to oversee the construction and development of the hospital. When completed, the hospital will work with a network of world-class medical professionals, both local and international, to deliver high-quality care.
